Do you love the idea of a French Press Coffee Pot, but you’re a little bit afraid to try it for yourself? Let me assure you that it’s really very easy to make a perfect cup of coffee in a French Press.
A couple of things to keep in mind are that you need to use a coarse grind when you grind your fresh beans. That’s right – you should always grind your own coffee beans for the best cup of coffee! You want to make sure that the grind isn’t too fine, or you’ll clog the mesh filter in your coffee press.
You should always make sure to measure your coffee. Use one large tablespoon of course coffee grounds for each 4 ounces of fresh hot water. When you measure the grounds, simply pour them directly into the bottom of the French Press. Of course you’ll have the plunger and filter unit sitting outside of the French Press while you pour in your coffee grounds.

This hefty, bullet-shaped grinder stays cool even when the motor runs, so no flavor or aroma is lost, and its jumbo capacity prepares enough beans for a large coffeemaker in one go-round. There is also a see-through plastic lid that lets you see how fine the grind is without opening the grinder. While these are great features, the machine has its drawbacks, too. Though the Capresso claims to have low-noise, it actually seemed a little loud compared to aslightly s (more…)

The Brazil works on the same principle as all coffee presses. It combines coarse ground coffee with water that is just off of a boil. This combination along with 4 minutes of extraction time allows the oil and acids that give the coffee it’s flavor to be completely extracted so you get a balanced and flavorful cup of coffee each time. After 4 minutes, just press and enjoy. There are no paper filters to soak up the oils, and cleanup is a snap. The 3 Cup Press is 12 oz and yields (more…)

We don’t know about you, but we like our coffee hot, very hot and for a long time too. The new neoprene coat for the Bodum French press does the trick – it keeps the coffee hot for a much longer period of time without messing with its taste. Anyone who has tasted the bitterness of coffee that’s been sitting on a heating element for a long time, knows that directly applied heat can’t be the way to go – it’s all about heat conservation. Just wrap the coffee coat aroun (more…)
